Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests that provide crucial data for diagnosing and treating patients. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
*Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests on clinical specimens, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluids, to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Prepare and process specimens, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Analyze test results and report findings accurately and timely to physicians and healthcare providers.
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory protocols.
- Adhere to quality control and quality assurance practices to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including the handling of biohazardous materials and waste.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to support patient care and laboratory operations.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent from an accredited program.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician from a recognized certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
- Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20-30 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to handle laboratory instruments and equipment.
