Install and Service Technician

Position Summary

The Install & Service Technician will install and repair the products offered by SG Architectural Solutions in an efficient, safe, and professional manner. The Technician will receive instruction from the Project Manager or Service Manager before arriving at a job site and should perform limited coordination activities once on the job site.

Responsibilities
• Perform installations of Smoke Guard equipment.
• Perform repairs and replacement of Smoke Guard equipment.
• Complete and submit daily reports and warranty work reports thoroughly and on time.
• Participate in fire inspections, including testing equipment and providing product documentation to customers.
• Responsible for any on site field coordination with other trades that was not captured in the Job Walk (ex. Coordination with electricians/superintendents detailing any power needs, or coordination with the drywall team to explain/detail unit housing needs).
• Work efficiently to minimize mobilizations/windshield time.
• Attend and actively participate in required safety trainings at SG Solutions or on project job sites.
• Notify management of issues, or potential issues, on job sites and address as needed.
• Ensure that Smoke Guard employee interactions on job sites are professional and respectful at all times and maintain good working relationships with site superintendents and other trades.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Knowledge & Skills
• Ability to gain in-depth technical knowledge of Smoke Guard products and perform troubleshooting and repair work on them.  • Ability to read building specifications, blueprints, and as-builds.
• Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools and ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision to complete work on time and according to quality standards.
• Ability to carry and lift heavy objects (50lbs), walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required safety certifications.

Experience
• 2 years of experience as an Installer, Repair Technician, or similar role
• 2 years of experience in the Construction industry

Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Work Environment
Physical Conditions:
• This position may work on active constructions sites or in finished buildings, must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, load and unload equipment, and safely operate a company vehicle.
• Current Texas driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Travel- This position requires regular travel within the state of Texas. Travel requirements out of state up to 30%.

Compensation & Benefits

• The hiring range for this position in $24.00-$27.00 per hour plus a discretionary bonus
