What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Lead - Epoxy position at CSWI w/Subsidiaries?
Position Summary
The Production Lead position plans, coordinates and inspects work in the production area and ensures that work is completed according to quality standards. This role also trains and mentors team members and works in cooperation with the Production Supervisor and staff. This role is a working Lead in the Fabrication department.
Hours are Monday – Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Lead work activities for the assigned area and help team members as needed
- Verify extrusions are the correct length, type and finish per production work order
- Ensure all inspection requirements are completed
- Verify cleanliness, overall appearance and quality of completed production work orders
- Complete required production paperwork and return to the Production Office
- Initiate preventative and corrective actions for problems with product or processes
- Offer solutions for problems with product or processes
- Be a safety role model for other employees by adhering to all Balco’s safety rules and regulations, participating in safety training and meetings, bringing safety issues to the attention of management
- Train new employees in the Epoxy department
- Mix epoxy with all correct colors and additives to fabricate required production orders
- Operate and maintain epoxy machine, keeping all components in specification
- Create setups and squeegees required to complete production orders
- Maintain a clean work area
- Perform other duties as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication standards, procedures, and best practices
- Able to read and properly interpret shop prints
- Able to proficiently read tape measure down to 1/16” for production and verification processes.
- Able to use of power tools and or machinery including saws, drills, sanders, grinders, nail guns, punch presses, and any other applicable machinery in a safe manner
- Able to inspect and verify materials to meet standards/details, and ensure it meets the needs of our customers
- Able to effectively use MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP software programs
- Able to communicate professionally in writing and verbally
- Able to work both independently and cooperatively and to provide effective leadership and team building with others
- Able to effectively train others and evaluate training knowledge
- Able to safely perform the following physical requirements multiple times per shift:
- Push, pull, and lift 50 pounds properly to prevent injury to yourself and others without
damaging material/product - Stand / walk for up to 10 hours daily while performing job requirements
- Push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Climb and descend stairs
Experience
- 3 years of experience working in a role where fabrication was a primary job duty
- 1 years in a Lead role or similar
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
