What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician- 3rd Shift position at CSWI w/Subsidiaries?
Provide quality assurance support to operations personnel to facilitate reliable in-process testing in order to meet specs requirements. Responsible for implementing and executing quality assurance policies, conducting tests and inspections, identifying production, process, or product issues, and presenting solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect and monitor batches to ensure process is consistent with standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Help with inspecting finished goods prior to shipment for correct labels, container damage, parts, and confirmation correct number of units are being shipped.
- Be a resource for operators on process and production questions, including but not limited to: checking mixer cleanliness, type of containers, labels, and any other questions
- Verify batch tickets and procedures to confirm they are being followed
- Perform batch ticket compliance audits
- Investigate production process issues and help implement corrective action
- Sign off on or keep inspection records with emphasis placed on problematic, complex, or new products
- Make recommendations for changes as necessary, such as: correct temperatures, pressures, sampling procedure, and taking samples at indicated points on the batch ticket, gluing, assembly, label placement, parts, hoses, etc.
- Ensure nonconforming products are quarantined and tagged
- Assist in locating and inspection of rework
- Support Customers, Technical Service, and Field Personnel by testing, analyzing, and researching product complaints, retain samples, field samples, and competitive products.
- Perform other duties as required.
Essential Skills, Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED Required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field preferred.
- Spill Control Experience Preferred (or completion of company sponsored spill control training within 90 days of employment).
- Minimum of 3 years working in a quality assurance role within a chemical batch manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of chemical processing facilities is highly desired
- Current knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 quality standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong initiative and sense of urgency
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to details
- Ability to accept responsibility and accountability for results
- Ability to work across all levels of the organization to solve challenging problems
