Job Summary
Install, configure maintain, replace and troubleshoot electronic communications and networking equipment. Employees must be able to meet and comply with the manufacturer's weight limitation safety rating and recommendations for any equipment associated with performing their duties, including the 300 lb. safety rating for ladders (both portable and affixed) and fall arrest equipment.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
- Install, configure, maintain, replace and troubleshoot electronic communications and networking equipment. Receive and record inventory delivery, document incident management information
- Retrieve parts from inventory to install and maintain equipment
- Monitor and respond to network problems providing remote diagnostics, problem isolation, and system restoration
- Perform operational checks of primary and backup systems
- Use tool set to maintain configuration of system elements
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Pay Rate
$44.22/hour
Training
You may be required to attend three weeks of paid training at the Railroad Education & Development Institute in Atlanta, GA. CSX will pay for travel, lodging and meals as required by collective bargaining agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver's License
- 18 years of age or older
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network or equivalent
- Two years of experience in electronic communications and computer networking
- Ability to obtain FCC License within 90 days
Physical Requirements
- Sedentary to medium work, lifting up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis
- Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/crawl/balance/climb

- Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)

Job Requirements
