Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team at CT Industrial Services, an environmental remediation company based outside of Scranton, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standard 1910.120.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide training and education to employees on health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Prepare Health and Safety Plans and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) documents in support of remediation projects.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and manage waste disposal and recycling activities.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
- Review and update health and safety policies regularly to ensure they are current and effective.
- Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies to promote a culture of safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the environmental remediation industry.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred but not required.

- Proficiency in developing and delivering health and safety training programs.
