Position Summary :

The Workforce Development & Continuing Education Aide provides administrative services in support of Workforce Development (non-credit) programs at Housatonic campus. The Workforce Development & CE Aide’s main function is to provide information, assistance and to offer exceptional customer service to the students, individuals requesting information, instructors, and staff.

Example of Job Duties :

Under the direction of the Director, Workforce Development & Continuing Education or other department administrator, theWorkforce Development & Continuing Education Aide is responsible for effective performance in these essential duties :

  • Administrative Support (respond to phone calls, emails and walk-ins).
  • Assist with student registrations.
  • Assist with preparing marketing materials.
  • Monitor, track and approve staff and employee by-weekly time sheets.
  • Assist with purchase orders and invoice tracking.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings.
  • Assist with organizing and tracking program files and student records.
  • Assist with room reservations.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications :

Associate degree in a related field; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following :

  • Strong Communication Skills :  Clear and effective verbal and written communication with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Organizational Abilities :  Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of program support.
  • Team Collaboration :   Work closely with the Workforce Development team and other campus departments to meet program objectives.
  • Problem-Solving Skills :  Quickly and effectively address issues or challenges that arise, ensuring a positive experience for all involved.
  • Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and Word.
  • Experience in Customer Service
  • Experience with general office duties, including filing, record-keeping, data entry, and preparing correspondence
  • Salary : 34.06 hourly
