What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Battery Electric Bus Fleet Analytics position at CT TRANSIT?
This position would bring optimize use of and develop best practices that can be used by HNS and other CTtransit providers. This position would also be responsible for the technical tasks currently conducted by division managers and superintendents (SharePoint and 365 management, accident reporting software, etc.). This position would provide develop and directly provide training internally and externally as needed. This position would require Maintaining and monitoring of the trends related to Transportation, databases of electric buses, software and bus equipment.
1. Develop, implement, and maintain procedures for Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Monitor data for trend analysis and prepare reports.2. Maintenance and monitoring of the Transportation & Maintenance server and databases, electric buses, electric bus data, software and bus equipment.
3. Co-ordinate with vendors and IT/Ops Tech Team for tracking the issues and to analyze/debug the software issues related to electric buses.
4. Troubleshoot systems database and data integrity issues.
5. Provide Level 2 IT support for Transitmaster and OPs helpdesk requests (including emergency afterhours/weekend support).
6. Assist in the development of training program for CTtransit providers for Transportation and Maintenance ITS.
7. Work on automation and scripting of Transportation and Maintenance technology processes.
8. Updating of outdated enterprise software packages for improved workflow.
9. Assist in administration of the Microsoft Office 365 production suite of products for Transportation and Maintenance departments.
10. Promote standardization across divisions in utilizing enterprise application systems.
11. Act as primary technical contact for key software suppliers and partners for electric buses.
12. Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive data processing workflows using SQL, Python, and Power BI to support CTtransit’s operational performance analysis needs.
13.Prepare the statistical reports and Dashboards using Power BI for external/internal authority
14. Serve as liaison for requests for operations data for external and internal inquiries.
15. Prepare and process daily and weekly reports for operational performance.
16. Ensure adequate data quality of processed data.
17. Creates reports/ websites/ apps for battery electric bus data trends.
18. Work cooperatively with all levels of personnel.
19. Will participate in the interview process, and the selection process for vacant Operations Technology/Information Technology positions.
20. Assists other departments and divisions as needed.
21. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 1. Minimum possession of a bachelor’s degree or technical education certifications in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Network Administration, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of relevant work experience is required.
2. An equivalent combination of education and work experience on a year for year basis can be substituted for the 4-year degree requirement.
3. Experience working in a union environment, interviewing, hiring, training, and employee development.
4. Experience in business data processing, network administration and end-user support. Experience should include ability to write and document processes.
5. Technical knowledge of MS-Windows enterprise and desktop applications and fundamental concepts of databases (preferably MS SQL).
6. Understanding of the components that comprise a web application system, i.e. database, web application server, and web application client/browser with associated plug-ins/extensions etc.
7. Fundamental understanding of network and internet technologies.
8. Experience with building and maintain databases for query and problem tracking.
9. General knowledge of programming languages and techniques is preferred.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to multitask, manage multiple employees, ability to conduct training when necessary.
11. Knowledge of the basic principles of supervision, knowledge of progressive discipline processes, including demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, build commitment to goals, offer instruction, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
12. A Valid Driver’s License is required. Individual may be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
13. Basic knowledge or understanding of software programs (office suite) and public transportation operations software (CAD/AVL). The ability to quickly learn internal software programs.
14. Demonstrated effectiveness in data gathering and analysis in preparation of reports as needed.
15. The ability to prioritize projects and have excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy.
16. Must be able to handle confidential information.
