The primary responsibility of the GIS Intern is to perform entry level professional GIS tasks while assisting CTC’s GIS staff with their daily activities and projects. The GIS Intern will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of GIS and learn a wide range of applicable skills.
Responsibilities
- Create and edit spatial and non-spatial datasets related to telecommunications
- Utilize ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online to create and edit GIS layers, maps and applications that can be sharable across departments
- Assist the GIS Team with a variety of internal GIS and data projects that span across departments
- Opportunity to expand your GIS skillset to include more advanced knowledge such as cartographic mapping, administrating web GIS, understanding GIS enterprise architecture, and scripting
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a HS diploma or GED and be a current college student, or currently registered for college
- Knowledge of GIS through coursework or practice
- Willingness to work within a flexible team environment
- Ability to learn and be open to new challenges
- Able to prioritize and work independently with direction
- Reliably be able to commute to CTC’s Brainerd office
