Job Title: Mechanical Technician II
Location: Newton, NC
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Newton, NC.
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Education: Associate degree

Scope of Position
- This role is part of the Engineering Project Team, focusing on capacity additions and associated line installations and debugging from a mechanical perspective.
- Lead and/or participate in manufacturing engineering projects and support teams for capacity installations, equipment debugging, and preparing lines and associated parts for operations.
- Provide mechanical expertise to proactively identify technical problems, determine root causes, and develop robust industrialized solutions.
- Utilize knowledge of mechanical engineering, machining, and design processes to enhance the performance of equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Support or lead new equipment and process introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and execute project plans to ensure error-free mechanical support for multi-line equipment installations.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to resolve technical issues while maintaining project scope, timing, and cost efficiency.
- Work across various functional groups daily to achieve project goals.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Maintain safe work practices and report hazardous conditions.
- Design and implement mechanical solutions to enhance manufacturing equipment capabilities.
- Manage activities to meet milestones and timeline objectives for capacity expansions.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues through data analysis, experience, and collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Oversee spare part identification and storeroom inventory as recommended by suppliers and engineers.
- Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.
- Support training for operations staff regarding equipment or operational changes.
Travel Requirements
- Project locations include Newton, NC, and Hickory, NC.
Work Schedule
- 40 hours per week (overtime expected).
- Due to project timelines, overtime and occasional off-hours work may be required to coordinate with team personnel.
Requirements Education
- Associate degree required
Experience
- 2 years of experience in new equipment installations within a manufacturing environment. Start-up experience is a plus.
- Experience with new equipment installations and project expansions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
Required Skills
- Quick learner with the ability to grasp new technologies and processes.
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to multitask and independently prioritize work in a fast-paced project-based manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desired Skills
- Experience in project leadership and management (including milestone management and financial oversight).
- Vendor and supplier management experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
