Position Overview :
The Staff Engineer is responsible for responsible for supporting civil engineering projects with durations between one month and two years. Works with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to solve problems in the design and construction of landfills, highways, airports, buildings, bridges, pipelines, dams, and levees.
This position has the ability has the ability to work out the following offices : Akron, OH; Farmington Hills, MI and Oak Ridge, TN
Responsibilities include :
- Field work such as : performing site inspections, developing daily field reports, attending progress meetings, demonstrating consistent / exemplary safety compliance, alerting project personnel when problems or non-conforming test results are observed, and participating in health and safety plan development.
- Office work such as : performing engineering calculations, performing computer-aided studies / testing, writing technical reports, analyzing project-specific data and developing appropriate conclusions, generating and editing engineering drawings, preparing materials for project proposals, and assembling quality project deliverables.
- Depending on qualifications and performance, successful candidates may also be expected to supervise small tasks of moderate complexity, direct the work of technicians, and prepare specialized technical reports
