Apply now! CTI is hiring a Forklift Operator / Inventory Control to join our operations at our Safford, AZ terminal!

This dual role combines the responsibilities of a Forklift Operator and Inventory Control, ensuring efficient and safe site operations. The duties involve receiving, unloading / loading Methionine and other non-hazmat material on a flatbed, secured and protected from moisture. As a Forklift Operator, you will be communicating with dispatch to assure loads are being met and product is being inventoried. Maintaining worksite and equipment cleanliness and ensuring operational efficiency.

The operator may perform a variety of other tasks relating to the shipment of products. It is expected that the employee will have the ability to understand and follow operating procedures and policies for CTI and the customer, Freeport McMoran Morenci.

Hourly pay : $19 - $23 / hr DOE

500 quarterly Safety Bonus

Job Site Location : Safford, AZ Terminal

Work Schedule : Monday - Friday 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm (unless otherwise specified by management)

Job Requirements

Minimum18 years of age

Valid driver license

Required to wear half-face respirator for certain tasks, which requires that you are clean-shaven

Meet minimum background check requirements for CTI and worksite customer(s)

Prior forklift experience : minimum 6-months, anything less will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Forklift certification preferred

General knowledge of inventory control, preferred

Mechanical abilities to troubleshoot and isolate malfunctions preferred

Successful Drug test at pre-employment

Successful respirator physical, and respirator fit test

Essential Duties

Inspect, maintain and operate forklift and off-loading ramp safely

Unload box van of sacked material and place in storage containers

Sign for loads, organize storage to facilitate First-In First-Out (FIFO)

Maintain inventory control and report to appropriate departments (external & internal dept.)

Collect, organize and store received shipping labels and documents

Inspect and operate a commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) for yard use only, perform drop and hooks on trailers as needed

Inspect flatbed trailers for serviceability, document and report discrepancies to shop on Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR)

Secure loads with cargo straps and edge protection, tarp and secure with bungie cords

General Bill of Lading (BOL)

Communicate with CTI distribution group when load is complete and ready for transport

Identify and report any spills or damage to commodity; clean up and properly coordinate disposal

Utilize Microsoft office : Excel, Teams and Outlook

Abilities and Skills

Physically demanding work outside at all times and be on your feet for extended periods

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required while performing tasks

Clearly communicate verbally, as well as electronically with railroad operators and CTI Inc. personnel Radio and text / e-mail in the English language

Make quick decisions and react efficiently and safely

Varying work hours with 8-10 hour shifts at least 5 days a week

Ability to inspect, maintain and operate forklift

Ability to lift, carry, pull, push and or move up to 80 lbs

Twisting, stretching, reaching, squatting, crawling on hands and knees & kneeling

Consistent climbing of stairs and / or ladders, being hoisted in the air, working at elevations of 20 feet above the ground.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) requirements :

PPE is required and must be worn in accordance with company policy and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each work site. PPE is typically issued by our safety department and may include but is not limited to :

Hard hat with face shield

Goggles / Spoggles

Gloves

Long sleeve shirt

Reflective vest

Hearing protection

Respirator Mask (varies according to the work site)

Steel toe boots (not supplied by CTI)

Respirators : CTI employees are required to wear a full and / or half-mask respirator for any job task that requires a respirator. Respirators (PPE) are distributed by CTI and are used to protect employees from those occupational hazards caused by breathing contaminated air (harmful dust, fogs, fumes, mists, gases, smokes, sprays, or vapors). All CTI employees who are required to wear a respirator must be clean-shaven daily and in compliance with respirator protocols at all times.
