Description:
The In-House Service Technician is responsible for providing technical repair and service work on portable gas detectors onsite in our Columbia, MO office. The In-House Service Technician will be responsible for the diagnostic review, repair, and replacement of parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for portables technical support, sales support, and monthly calibration reminders.
- Receives portables for repair, diagnosis the problem, send a quote, receive a PO, fix the issue, and then return the portable back to the customer.
- Complete all assigned tasks for repair, maintenance, and equipment tests.
- Repair broken-down or damaged equipment, and recommend new parts/product when needed, or when it would be more cost efficient for the customer.
- Ensure that product works correctly and safely.
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
- Educate the end product users about the correct use and upkeep of their products.
- Track department inventory and make timely notifications when inventory is running low.
- Adheres to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Fill out detailed reports and keep records of services that have been performed.
- High School Degree or equivalency (required).
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills.
- Proficient in common word processing, spreadsheet, database, and web-based applications.
