Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Senior Engineering Technicians/Technical Writers to support our Shipyard projects in the Portsmouth, Virginia area.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply qualifications to support Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical Technical codes with the preparation of Technical Working Documents (TWDs) such as Job Summaries, Task Group Instructions, and Deficiency Forms.
- Order materials, services, and rental equipment for ongoing and upcoming availabilities.
- Ship check for interferences and develop estimates.
- Prepare and issue technical working documents using various software systems including Advance Industrial Management (AIM), ATIS, TIM, HAYSTACK GOLD, IPI, NNSY Documents, CITIS, CVLI's, Maintenance Standards, Tech Manuals, CSMP's, and Microsoft Office.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent with credits in an engineering-related curriculum, including Calculus, Physics, Metallurgy, Structures, Internal Communications, and more.
- Minimum 10 years of practical design engineering experience or 10 years of practical field engineering experience providing problem analysis and resolution at a professional level.
- Minimum 5 years consecutive practical design experience or practical field engineering experience within the last eight years for construction, conversion, or modernization of U.S. Naval Ships.
- Able to obtain CAC, NAVSEA badge, and NMCI account.
- Must have current CONFIDENTIAL clearance and be eligible for SECRET security clearance.
