REQUIREMENTS:
Welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, motors and generators, according to layouts, blueprints or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts, positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. May locate and repair cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads, using inspection equipment and gas torch. May be required to pass GPC/ESSM performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of governmental agencies or professional and technical associations. Occasionally operates vehicles to move tools, materials and equipment to or from work site. Is responsible for keeping a clean and safe assigned work area, safeguarding, cleaning repairing tools, and compliance with all company and government policies and procedures. Performs after hours, weekend and emergency response services as required to include overnight travel. Will handle weights up to 100 pounds, average of 50 pounds.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of three years experience required in welding steel and aluminum by various processes. Solid understanding of Tig and MIg welding and blueprint reading.
