Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our clinic. As an Optometric Technician, you will assist optometrists in performing eye examinations, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Your expertise in medical terminology and familiarity with ophthalmology will be invaluable in delivering high-quality service to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and conducting preliminary tests.
- Measure and record vital signs, including visual acuity and intraocular pressure.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide front desk support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
- Provide optical support.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and post-examination instructions.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure efficient workflow within the clinic.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and equipment.
- Support pediatric patients by creating a comfortable environment during their visits.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a similar clinical role is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to ophthalmology and general healthcare.
- Familiarity with Epic systems for patient management is a plus.
- Knowledge of physiology related to eye health is beneficial.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- A compassionate demeanor when working with pediatric patients is highly valued.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
