Job/Position Summary
The North America Distribution Sales Manager is responsible for all sales of product sold through distribution for all the Advanced Materials and Solutions (AMS) Business Unit. In addition, sales of certain products through distribution from the Sensors & Mechatronics Business Unit will fall under the Manager’s area of responsibility. This position has a direct impact on the overall success of the Corporation’s distribution sales channel. The Manager will excel at establishing relationships with distributors, by introducing the product lines, coordinating training for appropriate distributor personnel on product features and functionality, negotiating the contractual terms of the relationship and managing stock orders and sales performance of the network on an on-going basis. Demand planning, forecasting, distribution market analysis, including “point of sales” analytics to define future actions are owned by the manager and shared with the respective Sales and Marketing Colleagues in the business units. This position establishes policies and practices related to the program with approval and concurrence of the GM and the respective Business Unit Directors of Sales and Marketing.

Major Areas of Responsibility
- Establish and realize distribution goals for sales growth, gross margins, promotions, and inventory turns.
- Establish inventory profiles, price sheets, and stocking packages with Product Management.
- Develop long term Distribution strategy to include rationalization of # of partners and driving partnerships that maximize growth for CTS.
- Analysis of “Point of Sales” activities to identify new revenue opportunities as well as pro-actively drive sales on high potential part numbers in the channel.
- Increase the breadth and depth of business activities with major distributors within the North America market.
- Implement business practices to optimize customer service and inventory management.
- Effectively manage costs related to the Distribution channel.
- Develop and maintain contacts with distribution specialists and management.
- Partner with CTS Regional Sales Managers and manufacturer sales representatives to support and drive growth in the territories.
- Communicate CTS business updates to Distribution partners.
- Participate in the demand planning process through monthly development of forecasts and sales review of products in the channel.
- Analyze channel product needs and recommend products to be added to the CTS portfolio.
- Outgoing and eager to build key relationships with Distribution partners.
- Candidate must be a proactive, self-starting person who has a passion for channel sales and can work independently in the field.
- Strong analytical skills using data analysis skills, software such as MS Excel, Salesforce.com, Tableau.
- Solid presentation skills using MS PowerPoint or similar.
- Location: Lisle, IL but open to remote for the right candidate.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, 7-10 years preferred, in sales or marketing passive electronic components industry.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience specifically working for a distributor or manufacturer focusing on the distribution channel.
- Ability to work several hours at a computer.
- Ability to travel (domestic and international) up to 30%.
