Join our dynamic Payloads organization, where innovation meets excellence in aircraft interior and cargo system design. As a Payload Systems Design Engineer 4, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aviation interiors, ensuring both functionality and passenger comfort.
- Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish comprehensive system designs.
- Utilize 3-D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to create, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs, providing detailed product definitions to engineering teams, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Perform and integrate analytical and test results to validate and verify that systems and components meet all specified requirements.
- Manage supplier development, testing, and production activities, coordinating closely to optimize designs and achieve program goals.
- Innovate new design and analysis processes and tools to enhance the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of development efforts.
- Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs, meeting projected requirements.
Our Payloads organization is responsible for everything you see when you fly—and much that you don't. This includes the aircraft's interior, cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety features. We enable our airline customers to fulfill their missions and represent their brands effectively. Our fast-paced, dynamic environment draws from diverse engineering backgrounds, offering a comprehensive statement of work that spans the product lifecycle. This includes supporting customer configuration development, supplier engagement, validating and verifying design requirements, integrating business needs, and supporting the product through production and certification processes. Your work will involve interfacing with project engineering, production engineering, program/product management, and more.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting engineering data.
- Experience with certification and qualification processes.
- Expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, particularly CATIA.
- Strong design and validation process skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Educational Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, with typically 9 or more years of related work experience. Alternatively, a PhD with 4 years of related experience, or a master's degree with 7 years of related experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.
Citizenship Requirement:
Must have US citizenship or Green Card holder.
