Cub Creek Science Camp is a residential summer camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 17. We are dedicated to providing an unforgettable and unique summer camp experience, but above all else, we strive to help our campers gain self-confidence, discover who they are, and make lasting friendships!
Dates : Junior Counselors work 2-5 weeks of the summer. Starting dates are May 31st, June 14th, June 28th, July 19th, July 26th.

Requirements
Work cooperatively with fellow staff to provide a healthy, safe, and enjoyable camp environment and experience for all campers. Junior counselors should be recent High School graduates who have not yet been to college. Work alongside a variety of camp positions to learn about each role, how camp functions behind the scenes, and to contribute to the camper experience. Assignments may include cabins, kitchen, camp store, class instruction, special events, and photography.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide guidance to campers on their schedule, activity choices, and abiding camp rules
- Assist campers at meal times, and in the cabin to ensure campers are maintaining health and hygiene practices such as showering, wearing clean clothes and getting appropriate sleep
- Lead cabin activities, songs, and games that are engaging and age appropriate
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to campers as needed by following behavior management techniques as outlined in the staff manual and during training
- Provide instruction of assigned camp activities to campers
- Ensure the safety of all campers when participating in camp activities
Required Experience and Skills :
Benefits
Starting pay $500 for 2 weeks. Additional $10 credit in camp store for snacks and supplies for each week at camp. Housing, meals, and laundry included. Weekend work is required, this position requires availability to work on-site 7 days a week for the contract period. 2-hour break provided each day, and 1 scheduled day off each week. Additional leadership training and certifications are available to the right candidates, including high ropes course and lifeguard certifications.
