Job Description:
We are seeking a Material Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for material coordination, inventory management, and supporting manufacturing operations. The position requires both office and shop floor presence, ensuring efficient material flow and collaboration across various workforce levels.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee material planning and inventory processes to ensure smooth operations.
Work closely with manufacturing teams, managers, and leadership to coordinate material needs.
Utilize MS Office (Excel) to analyze data, track inventory, and generate reports.
Collaborate with multiple departments to resolve material-related issues.
Maintain accurate records of inventory and support supply chain functions.
Spend approximately 50% of the time on the shop floor ensuring material availability.
Be flexible for overtime, including extended hours and occasional weekends.
Travel between local sites for meetings using a personal vehicle when required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field required.
3-5 years of experience in material coordination, logistics, or supply chain management (preferred).
Manufacturing experience is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with experience working with union workers, managers, and leadership.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Data Analysis, etc.).
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with shifting priorities.
No employment gaps in recent work history.
Must wear metatarsal protection on the first day.
Ability to complete training and operate a company-owned vehicle on-site if needed.
