The Mechanical Engineer provides professional engineering expertise in the

oversight of FTA-funded major capital transit projects. Serves as a technical resource expert in

mechanical engineering principles to review project sponsor's design products such as engines,

instruments, controls, robots, electric generators, internal combustion engines, steam and gas turbine

engines, refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, elevators, escalators, and machines.

Position Requirements

Qualifications :

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Project Planning, Engineering, and

Manufacturing Processes by Designing and Modifying Equipment for fabricating, building,

assembling, and installing components for major capital projects with at least 3 of the 7 years in

passenger rail or related transportation modes.

Must have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited

Program.

Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States is required.

Experience with assuring system and product quality by designing test methods and

testing finished product and system capabilities is desirable but not required.

Experience with confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes is required.
