What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant (Back Office) position at Cucamonga Valley Medical Group?
In this role, this individual will be responsible for performing a range of clerical and clinical tasks that help maintain organization and keep CVMG clinics running efficiently. Many of the daily tasks are a combination of clerical and clinical duties which often include: assisting a provider during a patient's check-up, recording vital signs, providing patient care, preparing equipment for exam rooms, documenting patients' medical information, and delivering compassionate support to patients and their families. They will assist patients professionally and courteously when addressing patients' physical and mental needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Recording patients' vital signs, documenting providers' notes and changes in medical conditions
- Prepping exam rooms for clinical procedures
- Assisting providers during routine checkups, outpatient procedures, and other physical exams
- Providing compassionate patient support and care
- Clear all orders and messages in the EMR system (eCW)
- Clean, disinfect, and stock all exam rooms, the laboratory, and the patient restroom
- Retrieve, sort, and distribute all faxed paperwork to the appropriate provider
- Arrange for specimen pick up from Laboratories
- Assist a patient in sitting, standing, and walking if necessary

- CPR Certification
- 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- 2 years of EMR systems
