Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exciting and delicious dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in menu planning, kitchen management, food safety, and product ordering/inventory. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen activities, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality culinary output. Your leadership should inspire the team, and help to train and improve the skills of the line cooks. Initially we plan to be open 5 days, and adding the other 2 after ~4 months, and then down the road expanding the kitchen team to add brunch/Lunch.
Duties
- Lead the kitchen team in daily operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food quality.
- Assist the partners with developing menus that demonstrate our traditional and family friendly style of cooking while matching customer preferences.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, safety procedures, and restaurant management practices.
- Monitor kitchen performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, menu planning, food safety standards, and kitchen management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team while fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Experience with banquet service and catering operations is desirable, as we do plan to add catering down the road.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively manage staff and interact with guests.
