JOB SUMMARY:
The Marketing Manager - Sports works with CUENTO and designated sports clients on marketing strategy and execution. The role requires an understanding of marketing principles, advertising strategy, tactics and channels, social media, how to tell compelling stories through written and creative elements and the ability to learn new industries and develop plans to positively impact our clients’ business and exceed goals. At CUENTO, we are a highly motivated fractional marketing department for our clients. We don’t operate like a traditional agency and instead build lasting partnerships to serve the varying needs of our clients from strategy to execution. 

 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop strategic marketing plans and campaigns to meet determined objectives for sports clients or take developed plans and assist with execution. 
  • Act as point of contact with sports clients by creating and implementing marketing strategies, supervising client accounts, fostering positive client relationships, analyzing market trends, overseeing budgets and collaborating with internal teams to ensure the successful implementation of campaigns and day-to-day marketing responsibilities. 
  • Work with internal and external teams to develop compelling content that embodies and personifies brand, drives awareness of key messages and complements all marketing efforts.
  • Create content to support advertising campaigns to drive results and key performance metrics. Develop and work with creative and production teams to create content, including copy, graphics and video elements.
  • Helps drive revenue in all channels through the development and execution of marketing and branding campaigns to drive ticket sales, increase revenues and generate season ticket leads. 
  • Work with AdTech team and media partners to develop strategic plan and launch campaigns aimed at driving revenue and ticket sales. 
  • Act as the brand advocate for sports clients by staying true to brand essence and guidelines to ensure consistency at every touchpoint. 
  • Manage channel and content plan and execution for assigned clients inclusive but not limited to email, social, website, app, onsite, event activation, advertising, media partnerships, 3rd party management. 
  • Lead account and project management for assigned clients.  Oversee project management for assigned clients by utilizing project management tool to create projects, tasks, reports and track to completion to meet or exceed determine deadlines and requirements. 
  • Measure performance of paid, owned and earned initiatives to determine effectiveness. Produce reports that measure and analyze performance and provide insights. 
  • Develop email strategy and content to complement campaigns and initiatives by further communicating key message points. 
  • Develop fan engagement initiatives, including loyalty programs, where it aligns with client objectives
  • Develop annual promotions giveaway plan for sports clients designed to maximize ticket sales, add value to fan experience, generate media attention and extend the brand.
  • Manage website content and necessary updates for sports clients.
  • Develop presentations for marketing plans and reports. 
  • Track marketing, advertising, social media, technology and content trends and assist with developing strategic plans to proactively recommend and implement new ideas for clients and CUENTO. 
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:  Must meet the following minimum requirements: 
  • Minimum three years of marketing, advertising and writing experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in marketing or advertising, sports industry experience is required.
  • Must demonstrate extensive experience in marketing in the sports industry with expertise in marketing planning and execution, copywriting, content development, advertising and brand advocacy. 
  • Strong analytical skills are required with proven ability to gauge performance, impact and create recommendations to further growth and address insights. 
  • Must be a strong collaborator with good time management and organizational skills. 
  • Excellent written and communication skills in all channels and formats a requirement with a demonstrated ability to correctly use punctuation and grammar. 
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of industries of focus or ability to learn quickly and resourcefully along with current events and trends. 
  • Exudes a positive attitude with a self-starter mentality
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently both internally, with clients and third party partners. 
  • Proficient in WordPress a plus with the requirement to learn the platform. 
  • Google and Facebook Certifications a plus with demonstrated proficiency in Google, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn. 
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.  
  • Knowledge of various Adobe software (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator) a plus.
