Role : The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) plays a pivotal role in making ORNL FCU the Best Place to Work in East Tennessee. The CHRO is responsible for human resources operations, talent acquisition and development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.

Provide strategic executive leadership, developing and executing Human Resources strategies aligned with organizational goals and contributing to the overall success and growth of the credit union.
Establish and implement innovative Human Resources efforts that effectively communicate and support the organization’s mission and strategic vision, fostering a culture of engagement and excellence and enhancing the employee experience.
Lead the development and execution of comprehensive talent acquisition and retention strategies, including identifying and developing talent, facilitating strategic conversations on re-imagining roles to meet market and business needs as well as evolving technical capabilities, and succession planning of key roles.
Develop a robust training program, including ensuring consistency in member interactions, compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, and advanced training opportunities for career growth and leadership opportunities.
Oversee the design, implementation, and management of competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain high-caliber talent.
Manage Human Resources operations, including but not limited to talent acquisition and on-boarding, career development, performance management, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
Cultivate positive employee relations, address concerns, and implement fair and effective conflict resolution processes, including serving as a member of the Ethics Committee.
Remain abreast of relevant labor laws and regulations, ensuring the credit union's compliance and mitigating legal risks.
Experience : A minimum of five years of executive Human Resources experience and ten years total leadership experience is required. Human Resources leadership in the financial services industry is preferred.Experience in a majority of the following areas of Human Resources preferred : Human Resources Operations, Training & Succession Planning, Compensation & Benefits, Recruiting & Retention, and HR Law. Must possess experience in managing others, leading initiatives, and creating and managing budgets and must demonstrate success in fostering a positive and inclusive organization. Executive management experience at an organization with 500 or more employees preferred.
Education : Bachelor's degree in a business related field, or a combination of education and Human Resources leadership experience is required. An advanced degree and / or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification is preferred.
