The VP of Human Resources will play a vital role in creating and implementing a comprehensive talent strategy that ensures Skyla is not only a place where people want to work but also where they want to stay. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas, a passion for employee advocacy, and a proven track record in talent acquisition, retention as well as benefits design and administration. Partnering with the VP of Organizational Culture, the VP of Human Resources will also focus on the employee experience and serve as a strong advocate for our team members.

The VP of Human Resources should be a highly approachable individual with stellar written and verbal communication skills. The VP of Human Resources will be extremely passionate about and dedicated to supporting our focus on a culture where employees thrive, grow, and feel truly valued. The ideal candidate will embrace and understand the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). The VP of Human Resources must be a trusted, hands-on advisor, committed to building and leading an inclusive workplace, providing solutions across the organization to foster employee engagement.

Reporting to the Chief Culture Officer, the VP of Human Resources will be a key contributor to leadership’s efforts to ensure all team members share the same vision, working in unison with other leaders to align all areas of the credit union with the overall mission, vision, and values of the organization. A successful VP of Human Resources will be a high-energy, dynamic, inspirational, and visible leader with a passion for helping team members succeed in all that they do.

If you’d like to become part of the Skyla Credit Union team, we’d like to learn more about you! Please share your resume that illustrates 10 years of human resources leadership experience. Ideal candidates will have a SHRM / SPHR certification and comparable experience working at organizations with at least 250 full-time employees and a deep understanding of financial institutions. Be sure to include any certifications (SPHR or SHRM for example) and additional credentials (Certified Diversity Professional or Certified Diversity Executive for example) you may possess. Strong knowledge of HR-related compliance and legislative requirements is required. Familiarity with employment law in North Carolina and California is preferred.
