This is a recruitment for a short-term/temporary position. This recruitment will be open until the position is filled.
DEFINITION
Provides support for the Phlebotomy training program through assisting staff in material preparation, and student support services. May assist the program through marketing outreach to area school districts, community partners and agencies and other related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The teaching assistant shall be qualified by training and experience to assist with teaching of the course and shall be approved by the program director in coordination with the program faculty as qualified to assist in teaching the topics to which the assistant is to be assigned. A teaching assistant shall be supervised by a principal instructor. Will assist the Phlebotomy faculty with set up and take down and supervise learning stations that allow students to acquire psychomotor skill competencies needed to be successful in the patient care setting. Psychomotor skills include blood, urine, stool and other specimen type collection, and the correct use of laboratory requisitions and billing documents.Required:

- Level 1: Proof of certification in the State of California as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or II
- Level 2: Proof of certification in the State of California as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or II and a minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience
- Willingness to commit to support the scheduling needs of the Phlebotomy program at both the San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles campuses
- Acute care experience
- One year of experience tutoring and/or mentoring Phlebotomy students.
Salary : $16 - $21
