What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing financial and operational data, preparing key financial reports, and ensuring compliance with IFRS standards. This high-profile role will collaborate with internal stakeholders and present findings to leadership to support financial decision-making and strategic plan.
Responsibilities:
- Support variance analysis and explain financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze various operational data using analytical tools to find the “why” behind the numbers, identifying trends, anomalies etc. that tell the story to help drive profitability.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with acquisition and divestiture due diligence, purchase accounting, and financial settlements.
- Manage the annual 401(k) Plan audit and prepare associated financial statements.
- Enhance financial reporting processes and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Support compliance efforts, including SOX, external audits, and regulatory filings.
- Assist with general and administrative budget preparation and forecasting.
- Serve as a backup for key back-office financial functions as needed.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, FP&A, or public accounting.
- Upstream oil & gas experience required, preferably with a publicly traded company
- Exposure to technical accounting such as ARO, GAAP/IFRS knowledge (IFRS 15 & IFRS 16).
- Advanced Excel skills required, with exposure/interest to analytical tools such as Power BI, or Spotfire and working knowledge with financial systems such as Enertia (ERP), Workiva.
