What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSISTANT FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER position at Culinaire?
Culinaire is in search for an experienced and seasoned ASSISTANT FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER to lead an amazing team at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio. As the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, you will assist in overseeing daily operations in catering, concessions, and restaurant, as well as coordinating menus, managing staff, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring efficient dining services.
A few important duties and responsibilities will include:
- Lead a successful catering team that begins with interviewing, selection, training, scheduling and performance follow up of all service staff
- Attend all BEO meetings
- Complete understanding of the catering area to discuss with clients the best solution for an event, and a through comprehension of the catering menu details and pricing
- Collaborate with Director of Catering to assist in the planning of events with clients to include the design of the event with layout, seating, decorations, seating, podiums, dance floor and audio/visual equipment.
- Properly order all alcoholic beverage and other amenities as needed for each catered event then prepare an after event inventory, as well as weekly and monthly inventories.
- Order linens and necessary supplies for services for all events.
- Participate in all catered events to meet and visit with the client prior to the event, during the event, and at the conclusion.
- Sells banquet facilities in conjunction with Director of Catering
- Meet and exceed budgeted sales goals.to profitably operate the catering area
- Exceptional customers service in a professional manner for plated meals, buffets, stations, passed hors d’oeuvres, wine service and bars. Ensure all billing is accurate and each banquet check is signed.
- Responsible for completing various daily administrative duties prior to and at the end of each shift.
- Responsible for handling accurate and efficient cash transactions.
- Responsible for accurate handling of POS system
- Supervise and training bartenders, servers, and concession attendants.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including opening and closing duties, ensures proper setup and presentation of dining areas and coordinate accordingly with culinary department.
- Monitor financial aspects of the departments, including cost analysis, inventory management, and budget adherence.
