What are the responsibilities and job description for the UTILITY ATTENDANT (DISHWASHER) position at Culinaire?
Culinaire is hiring a UTILITY ATTENDANT (DISHWASHER) who is energetic and focused on cleanliness and sanitation at the Carnegie Science Center. This position is a great stepping stone to enter the Culinary world to learn more areas of the kitchen for advancement opportunities.
A few job duties and qualifications:
- Maintain the kitchen area clean, neat and orderly
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors using prescribed chemicals in a safe manner utilizing proper signage
- Scrape and spray all dishware and utensils prior to washing in machine
- Soak all silverware in prescribed chemicals, spray and stack in prescribed holders prior to placing in washing machine
- Scrape all pots, pans and trays if utilizing dish machine, and if hand washed to ensure that the sink has proper water and chemicals - air dry all items prior to stacking - clean three compartment sink prior to departing
- Air dry all dishes, trays and utensils prior to distributing items to proper locations
- Remove trash, clean garbage cans re-bag and return to location
- Set up dish machine with clean drains and screens if required, add water and ensure chemicals are available - empty and clean machine throughout shift and turn off at end of day
- Clean specified pieces of equipment as assigned utilizing proper chemicals and protective eye and hand articles
Qualifications and Skill Set:
- Able to stand and walk the entire shift
- Carry, lift, pull and push up to 50 pounds
- Dependable to report when scheduled morning, afternoon, or evening shifts
- Positive and Professional attitude and behavior
