What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Culinary Hub of Providence?
Culinary Hub of Providence, a program of the nonprofit organization Genesis Center, whose mission is “to provide the highest quality education, job training and support services to people of diverse cultures so that they may achieve economic independence and participate fully in society,” is seeking a Bartender/Server for the Culinary Hub of Providence to mentor students for its Training Program and provide guest service at the Restaurant. The position will start immediately.
The Culinary Hub of Providence is a new social enterprise being launched by the Genesis Center’s dynamic team to develop and launch a restaurant in downtown Providence that will implement a mission-driven, client-centered, and outcome-focused training curriculum. The curriculum will facilitate acquisition of skills and competencies required for a career in RI's diverse hospitality industry.
We are seeking an experienced professional with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Experience in providing education or training to adults is also preferred. The ideal candidate should possess thorough knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, coffee products, full service and quick serve formats. Candidates should also be interested in working with diverse populations and sensitivity and commitment to the Genesis Center mission, which includes an understanding and appreciation of special problems and stressors of refugee and immigrant families.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
