Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Data Engineer 2 in Chicago, IL. The work will be done onsite. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. compensation is $60/hr benefits.
Our customer is the largest construction equipment manufacturer in the world.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Data Specialist to assist with enabling BI (Business Intelligence) datasets to support Tableau dashboards. Primarily be working in Snowflake and Snap Logic to enable. Strong SQL and Snowflake required. Snap Logic, Tableau, GA4 and Python are added bonus.
Reason/motivation for request:
The Digital BI Team owns 50 dashboards and has 8 visualization resources to support the Aftermarket growth initiatives. Large growth initiatives in the aftermarket supported by Digital and the Industry partners to enable this growth. The dashboards provide scorecards, insights and exploration of the key KPIs, tools and growth initiatives for the organization. With the number of dashboards and focus on these initiatives, the team has a high number of ETL asks to enable ‘Best-in-class’ visualizations. This resource would support our two full-time on-shore Data resources.

Interaction with team:
- With the BI team, there are 13 folks. 2 FTE who working data, 7-8 who are full time BI Visualization.
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Strong SQL and Snowflake
- Understanding of dimensional and relational data modeling
- Knowledge of database security, performance standards
- Close attention to detail
- Maintain and enhance Snowflake data warehouse to enable Insights and Reporting Teams
- Competent to perform all necessary data related task which could include data design, data quality, metadata management, data governance etc
- Troubleshoot on complex problems and provide solutions to data issues
- Liaises with global teams to support project planning for efficient creation/maintenance of high-quality data
- Ensure compliance with the latest data standards supported by the company, and brand, legal, information security (data security and privacy compliance)
- Maintain knowledge of functional technology of the data management systems as they change with upgrades and new releases
- Contribute to designing robust, scalable data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) solutions
- Develop data ingestion store specifications identifying source systems and the tables and fields to ingest.
- Develop data object pipeline specifications including detailed field level mapping, business rules, data quality rules, etc.
