Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a CNC Field Service Engineer. The work will be done remotely with 80% travel. This is a permanent job. Compensation is salary bonus and competitively based on industry standard.
Our customer is a Swiss-based manufacturer specializing in high-precision CNC grinding machines for cutting tools, medical instruments, and other precision components.
Company Overview:
Headquartered new Libertyville, IL, with headquarters in Switzerland, with approximately 400 employees, our company builds Swiss-made machines and operates globally with subsidiaries in multiple countries, including a 45-person team dedicated to service parts and application support. We also have operations in India, Brazil, and Taiwan, with a total workforce of around 600. Our primary focus is on application and service, with about 25 team members in this division—roughly half in service and half in application roles.
Team & Role Expectations:
Our field service team consists of 7 employees who travel extensively and 7-10 in application roles. We seek individuals with the right attitude, ideally those already experienced in field service and comfortable with frequent travel (approximately 75-90% of the time, mostly within the US, with occasional trips to Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Switzerland). Travel is generally Monday through Friday, with weekends at home, and a company car is provided for business use.
Technical Requirements:
Candidates should have a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, ideally with experience in automation, diagnostics, and servicing complex machinery (CNC preferred). Experience in both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting is valued, but a mindset oriented toward technical problem-solving is most important. Prior field service and travel experience are strong advantages.
Hiring Process:
The process begins with a phone screen. If there is mutual interest, candidates are invited for a trial day, during which they meet team members from various departments and join for lunch. This is followed by a technical and personal assessment. If needed, an additional half-day trial may be conducted to ensure team fit, as collaboration and trust are central to our hiring philosophy.

- Hourly rate: $37–$42 (W2)
- Travel: 75–90%, mostly in the US
- Company car for work use
- Training provided, including a visit to Switzerland within the first year
- Flexible travel arrangements and covered travel expenses
We value trust, integrity, and a positive attitude in all team members. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, service-focused environment and be committed to delivering exceptional customer support.
