Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Process Control Engineer 2 in Clayton, NC The work will be done onsite. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $38/hr W2 full benefits, vision, dental, health insurance, 401K and holiday pay.

Background/Experience: Required: A minimum of 3 year of job-related experience; A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferably in engineering; Engineering or manufacturing background plus familiarity with manufacturing processes used to produce components and assemblies for Products; Knowledge of shop operations; Good interpersonal communication, analytical, leadership and project management skills to develop a cooperative working relationships with others both inside and outside. Highly Desirable: Quality engineering certification; Capable of using and demonstrating statistical and problem-solving tools; Understanding of 3rd party registration standards.
Position's Contribution to Work Group:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with suppliers and design engineers on nonmetallic components such as injection molded, thermoformed, blow molded, rotomolded, rubber, insulation, etc. This includes ensuring that robust process controls are in place to address and prevent defects as well as developing new parts following the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) steps. Responsible for the supplier’s processes from design concept to the end of product life. This position ensures the adequacy of the supplier’s quality management system and the capability of people, training, tooling, fixturing and equipment. Provides technical support during start-up activities. Ensures that APQP activities related to process control are being performed by the supplier. Monitors supplier adherence to Process Change Notification (PCN) (for changes driven by Supplier) on a timely and cost-effective basis. Manages supplier’s project plans and activities to ensure product meets expectations. Ensures all relevant requirements and related changes are thoroughly documented.
Typical Day:
Reviews APQP documentation (e.g., Process FMEA {failure mode and effects analysis}, Process Control Plans, Gage R&R {repeatability & reproducibility}). Participates in process FMEA for suppliers manufacturing processes. Audits process control implementation and effectiveness. Validates process capability when applicable. Ensures PPAP completion and approval prior to shipment of new parts. Ensures resolution and implementation of robust solutions for quality problems associated with purchased materials and engineering issues. Responsible for the review, approval and validation of 8D permanent corrective action plans. Participates in the development of Supplier quality metrics, and in Supplier Performance Management Reviews (SPM). Manages the completion of their own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree required in related field (Engineering); 2-4 years of experience in the field. Would consider associate's degree with adequate experience.
Critical Technical Skills:
Thorough knowledge of APQP activities. -Must have a thorough working knowledge of quality initiatives. Experienced in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) Desired: Experience with non-metallic components and processes.
