What are the responsibilities and job description for the Application Engineering (AE) Manager, Commercial & Industrial North America position at Culligan?
The Application Engineering (AE) Manager, Commercial & Industrial North America is responsible for leading a group of AE’s to successfully quote water treatment systems of various sizes and complexity in order to achieve the C&I budget, with a strong emphasis on custom (SEP) projects. This individual is responsible for all personnel management activities required to create and maintain a high performing, highly effective and highly adaptable team. This is a worker / manager role which requires close collaboration with the commercial teams, other engineering functions as well as operations and finance.
Specific Job Functions :
- Actively monitor, motivate and develop the workforce, hold them accountable, give them feedback, help them continuously improve / grow in skills and capabilities
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the organizational structure to insure you have the right people, with the right skills / training in the right roles to meet the department / business needs
- Create a culture that mirrors the values of Culligan International, allows for the highest levels of collaboration within the entire organization and always satisfies our customers, especially our dealer network
- Create / track / meet / update critical team metrics as needed to measure performance and track areas of opportunity, including but not limited to project margins, timelines and the department budget. Report out results and actions verbally or in writing on a regular basis
- Through collaboration with commercial partners ( CSM’s), customers / dealers, and other stakeholders, play a key role in establishing and defining job requirements and bid strategies to maximize chances to win while optimizing AE resources
- Update and / or elevate critical issues to management on a timely basis
- Create complete proposals using established processes as required for various size / complexity equipment : Proper discovery process, interpretation of specifications, code compliance, sizing of equipment, quotation of components, creation of costing sheets, choosing appropriate margins.Participate as needed in KOM’s to ensure proper project hand-off with other departments
- Projects involve all levels of complexity from a few thousand to several million dollars
- Stay on top of industry trends so you can assign resources to participate and assist in the NPD and business development process and achieve C&I NPD goals.

What we offer :
Target Salary Range : $110,000 - $150,000 year with the opportunity for eligible employees to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
