QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.  Food Handler’s or Food Safety Certifications preferred. Must have prior experience in food service management or a related field. Must have knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must meet Park Board employment and physical standards, which includes a background check as well as drug and alcohol screening.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Service Support: Assist in the management of food and beverage services at various athletic facilities, helping to oversee concessions and catering operations.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with the Food and Beverage Coordinator to manage relationships with vendors and caterers, ensuring timely delivery and quality of service.
  • Inventory Management: Help maintain inventory levels of food supplies and equipment, ensuring that all items are available as needed for events and operations.
  • Staff Supervision: Assist in supervising food service staff and volunteers, ensuring they are trained and performing their duties according to health and safety standards.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, resolving any issues related to food and beverage services promptly and efficiently.
  • Event Preparation: Support event setup and takedown related to food and beverage service areas.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all food service operations comply with local health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of sales, inventory, and customer feedback to help in future planning and compliance.
  • Alcohol Service Management: If applicable, assist in managing the alcohol service at events, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and promoting responsible consumption.
  • Financial Assistance: Help manage budgets and financial reporting for the food and beverage department.
  • Attends all meetings as requested by the Athletic Director.
  • Acts as a team member with other Parks and Recreation staff, embracing and supporting the vision and mission of the CPRST Board of Directors and the City of Cullman.
  • Maintains sound business and financial procedures in accordance with Federal and State laws, and CPRST system policies.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism and ethics, working amicably with the Park Board, the Executive Director, Administrators, Personnel, and Community.
  • Exhibits proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Works a minimum of a forty-hour work week, which will likely include nights and weekends, with hours varying based on time of year, events, and projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work area is well lighted, ventilated, and heated. Occasionally work outdoors where there is a potential to be exposed to various weather conditions.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands for this position are moderately active. Walking, running, standing, bending, stooping, jumping, and carrying of moderately heavy items may be required. Must be able to routinely lift fifty pounds of weight without assistance.
