What are the responsibilities and job description for the CEMS BUSINESS OFFICE SUPERVISOR position at Cullman Regional Medical Center Inc?
Job Summary:
- Plans, organizes, and promotes services for ambulance transportation and related billing/insurance reimbursement.
- Files claims, reviews claims, postspayments, and maintains NAAC certification.
- Monitors monthly reimbursement, patient charge process, and performance improvement.
- Files and retrieves paper and electronic claims and remittance.
- Provides billing staff training, development, and oversight of competency and performance reviews.
- Demonstrates and encourages team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
- Upholds and promotes patient safety and quality.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in health insurance billing or equivalent. Knowledge of governmental compliance issues.Must be an EMT Basic or higher with current licensure.
Experience:
Three to five years of working in a medical billing office. Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Excel. Certification by the National Academy of Ambulance Coding must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Excellent customer service, leadership, and conflict resolution skills required.
