What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credentialing Specialist-Medical Staff position at Cullman Regional Medical Center Inc?
Job Summary:
- Overseeand facilitatemedical staff services functions.
- Compileand maintaincurrent, accurate data for all providers in credentialing database including but not limited toa) provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications; monitorapplications and follow-up as needed,b) processapplications for appointment and reappointment of privileges, and c) maintainand trackall current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers.
- Setup and maintainprovider information in online credentialing databases and system.
- Providecredentialing and privileging verifications.
- Maintainconfidentiality of provider information.
- Facilitateand ensureJoint Commission continuous readiness process.
- Demonstrateand encourageteam behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
- Upholdand promotepatient safety and quality.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred. Certification preferred.
Experience:
Two years of relevant medical staff and credentialing experience preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Must be competent in quality control standards, reliability, and precision of equipment. Must have the ability to prioritize, multitask, remain calm under stress, and communicate effectively. Basic computer skills required.
