About the Role
Culmen International is seeking a Bacterial Core Lead Scientist to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD.
The Bacterial Core Lead Scientist provides technical leadership for core bacteriology research and supports coordination of high-containment animal studies and in vitro assay development.
What You’ll Do in Your New Role
- Design and lead bacterial pathogenesis experiments.
- Direct immunological and molecular assay implementation.
- Ensure research compliance and documentation quality.
- Mentor junior scientists and technicians.
- Interface with government stakeholders and collaborators.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in microbiology or infectious disease research.6 years in bacteriology, with experience leading technical research teams.
- Advanced knowledge of bacterial genetics and immunology.
- Strong leadership and technical documentation skills.
- Experience in BSL-3 operations.
- Familiarity with animal study protocols.Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
Desired Qualifications
- Ph.D. preferred.
