About the Role
Culmen International is looking for a Biocurator to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD.
The Biocurator is responsible for ensuring the integrity, consistency, and accessibility of biological data across systems supporting R&D of medical countermeasures and diagnostic platforms.
What You’ll Do in Your New Role
- Curate experimental data and maintain relational databases.
- Annotate datasets with controlled vocabularies and metadata standards.
- Collaborate with researchers and IT staff to ensure data consistency.
- Document curation processes and develop SOPs.
- Conduct quality checks and resolve data integrity issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, data science, or a related discipline.
- 4 years in laboratory or bioinformatics data curation.
- Experience with biological databases and LIMS.
- Understanding of bioinformatics tools and metadata schemas.
- Attention to detail and data normalization standards.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
