What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant/ Toddler Assistants position at Culpeper Baptist Child Development Center?
This position asks for participation as a member of the CDC team to promote learning by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate experiences and by creating an environment in which children can experiment, make choices, develop and enjoy their time at the center like a second home. Children in this program may be 6 weeks to 30 months
You also need to:
- Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
- Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children
- Support your center’s success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement
- Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, and community contacts.
Duties
You must:
-be able to lift up to 45 lbs. bend, stoop, stretch, squat, quickly sit, stand and be physically active with children (i.e. sitting on floor, exercising, running, jumping, dancing, etc).
-become proficient and comfortable with diapering and cleaning procedures.
- be able to communicate with parents with all information needed on child's day, including but not limited to keeping up with daily sheet documentation, making sure all the belongings go home with the child.
-be able to do all things needed to help run the classroom on a daily basis.
-be able to follow schedule of each classroom and child.
-help with lunch breaks and planning when needed
Requirements
-Must be 18 years or older
-Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. bend, stoop, stretch, squat, quickly sit, stand and be physically active with children (i.e. sitting on floor, exercising, running, jumping, dancing, etc).
-Must become proficient and comfortable with diapering procedures.
-May be exposed to blood and bodily fluids.
-Must be able to physically and mentally react to unexpected circumstances immediately and appropriately.
-Must maintain a high energy level and be on their feet interacting with children the majority of the day, unless instruction requires otherwise.
- Must maintain self-control in your dealings with others (including, but not limited to, staff, parents, and children).
-Each staff member must pass 2 criminal background checks, have Employment Eligibility Verification, and a Sworn Disclosure Statement.
-Flexibility- Must be able to adjust quickly and happily. There is never a dull moment
-Must be able to work 5 days a week (Monday through Friday) 11:45-6:00pm with flexibility for longer days as needed.
-Team work and collaboration- Must be able to work and plan well with other co-workers. Nobody knows it all, nobody can do it all by themselves, the team is what makes us better at the amazing task we have been called to do.
