Job Summary
To provide Behavior Support services to families of children with severe emotional disturbances by engaging the child and family in weekly behavior skills training activates. Behavior Support will follow a strengths-based model that will help develop and build skills that will help the child and family. Behavior Support Specialist will be responsible for developing a Service Plan that is focused on the child and family needs. The plan will address all behaviors that have been identified by the family, child and any collateral information The Behavior Support team will also help assist the family in any Case Management activates that can be beneficial to the youth and family.
Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provisions of services, based on the needs of the client/family
- Efficient delivery of service and utilization of clients units
- Maintain up to date and detailed client files (including all required consent forms, Session Notes, Outpatient Treatment Reviews (OTRs). Assessments, Behavior Plans, Discharge/Discontinuation Forms, etc.
- Completion and timely submission of all agency forms
- Maintain awareness of current developments pertinent to the field
- Collaborate with case managers and other members of the team to ensure quality service
- Maintain safety and security of the facility as needed
- Develop and maintain a network of community referrals
- Maintain up to date professional certification based (i.e. LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, LPA, LBA, etc.)
- Maintain a detailed understanding of Medicaid, Michelle P. Waiver and/or 3rd party regulations regarding licensure, continuing education units, billing-procedures, etc.
- within 72 hours (waiver), 4 hours (Medicaid) of service provision. There will be no exceptions and failure to do this could result in corrective actions and/or termination of employment
- Attend all required trainings for service provision
- Complete all required background checks and drug screen
- Agrees to pay back any moneys recouped for clients they service by the State of Kentucky due to any negligence concerning requirements & regulations including the following:
- Note not in order, failure to complete, notes not in the electronic health record system in a timely manner (by required timeline noted by the Medicaid/MPW), no date of service or time of service and/or signature not present on each note.
- Duplicate service billing billing a service (individual, collateral Behavior Supports) while a patient or client is in a Medicaid funded hospital or residential facility.
- Writing notes for a client while in session with a different client.
- Billing for 2 clients in same time frame.
- Must be ready and available to work during regular business hours
- Adheres to Cultivate policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Masters degree in social work or other related discipline
- At least two years prior experience working in the behavioral health field
- Highly motivated and energetic during work hours
- Responsibilities include mostly clerical, administrative work requiring vision and hearing
- Dedicated to the success of children and family teams
- Experience and competency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multitask with excellent time management skills
- Provide one on one in-home Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy
- Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions
- Conduct Discrete Trials, Natural Environment Teaching, and various teaching/reinforcement methods in line with the Behavior Support Plan.
- Work collaboratively with a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA therapy.
- Strong technology skills for data collection and entry
- Professional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude while being an active participant who contributes to team activities, meetings, and training
- Ability to set and achieve goals that benefit the patient, the team, and the BT/RBT
- Ability to receive feedback, coaching, and counseling while maintaining a positive attitude and commitment to be a continuous learner
- Ability to pass a background screen, reference checks, and drug screen
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and spend time standing as well as an ability to lift items up to 50 lbs
- Endurance to move quickly from a seated position to a standing position to accommodate the treatment plan and/ or for the safety of the patient
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to operate office equipment, etc.
