Cultivate Community Food Co-op (CCFC) is seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Intern to help grow our digital community and amplify our mission to launch Solano County’s first community-owned grocery store.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means increasing engagement across CCFC’s social media platforms, building community awareness around food justice and cooperatives, and elevating our brand voice through compelling, consistent storytelling. You'll contribute directly to our movement for local, sustainable, and inclusive food systems—while gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit digital marketing.
Responsibilities
• Attend monthly Marketing Team meetings (remote/in-person)
• Support the development and execution of CCFC’s content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
• Design assets—graphics, create reels, and draft posts using Canva or similar tools
• Write clear, community-focused captions and blog-style updates
• Engage with followers through timely responses and thoughtful interactions
• Stay informed on trends related to food co-ops, sustainability, and local food systems
• Track performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement
• Assist in promoting events, membership drives, and fundraising campaigns
Qualifications
• Passion for food justice, community ownership, sustainability, and equity
• Experience with social media platforms and strategy (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
• Strong writing and communication skills with a warm, engaging tone
• Basic graphic design knowledge (Canva, Adobe Spark, or similar)
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take initiative
• Bonus: Familiarity with social media analytics tools, content scheduling apps (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Buffer, Later), or nonprofit work
