Senior Financial Accountant - Fixed Term Contract

The Opportunity

The Senior Financial Accountant will lead and support a small team, playing a key role in managing financial accounting, cash flow, inventory control, and intercompany reconciliations. This role ensures accurate reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Working in a fast-paced, growing environment, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated with strong communication skills and proven experience in a similar role. You'll contribute to the business's financial health while driving continuous improvements in SOX, tax, and compliance processes.

• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Manage the general ledger system, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Assist Head of Finance with leading month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement analysis and other requirements.
• Collaborate with the finance team to assist in the Balance Sheet budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. Keep up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and implement necessary adjustments.
• Oversee inventory management, including tracking inventory levels, valuation, and reconciliation. 
• Reconcile intercompany accounts accurately for the month-end closure.
• End-to-end management and reporting for fixed and intangible assets, including general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis with supporting commentary 
• Support the Head of Finance with liquidity management and planning for AKA, including monitoring actual cash flows for weekly payments.

• Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent in Business / Commerce / Accounting.
• Retail & eCommerce experience is an advantage.
• 3 years plus in a similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel 
• Analytical mindset with a great attention to detail.
• Highly organised with an ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands.
• Other favourable skills: Knowledge of use of Domo, SQL, Avalara, Floqast.
