Culver School District is seeking a dynamic, flexible and committed individual who is looking for an opportunity to deliver high quality instruction, grow professionally and be an enthusiastic team member. The Second Grade Classroom Teacher will assist and guide the learning of students, incorporating motivation, discipline, safety and health while providing supervision. The teacher will also lead each student toward the fulfillment of his/her potential for intellectual, physical, emotional and psychological growth and maturation by providing appropriate individual instruction.
The Second Grade Classroom Teacher must be able to use highly effective engagement practices and differentiated instruction to reach the various needs of our learners. The individual must be able to interact with students, parents, colleagues, and community members in a positive, respectful, and responsible manner. In addition, the individual must feel very comfortable teaching collaboratively and thematically across academic disciplines in a STEM/project based learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Oregon Teaching License, appropriate endorsement(s)
- Background in the Science of Reading Required
- ESOL Endorsement or related coursework preferred
- Knowledge of, or strong interest in, STEM/PBL education
- Knowledge of current concepts, methods, and procedures for curriculum development and implementation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate in a positive manner
- Knowledge of and ability to implement the Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
- Skilled at Formative & Summative Assessment Practices that align with the CCSS
- Knowledge of and ability to implement the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
- Skilled at Differentiated Instructional Practices
- Skilled at Student Engagement Practices
- Experienced in DIBELS or Easy CBM Assessments
- Team Oriented
