Position Title: Assistant Director of Dining Services

Position Summary:
Culver-Stockton College (C-SC) in Canton, Missouri is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Dining Services Director. This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining facilities during evening hours, overseeing staff, managing inventory, and maintaining high standards of food quality and service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the Culver-Stockton College community while gaining valuable experience in the field of dining services management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Director in the day-to-day operations and administration of Dining Services at Culver-Stockton College.
Assist the Director with training, hiring, and managing a large staff of both full-time and student employees, which include the planning, assigning, and directing of work and appraising performance, discipline and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Coordinates employee scheduling and personnel utilization ensuring budgetary goals are met.
Supervise evening dining staff, including servers, cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure efficient and effective operation of dining facilities.
Oversee meal preparation, ensuring that all food is prepared according to established recipes and food safety standards.
Manage inventory and ordering of food and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
Monitor dining facilities to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Train and mentor staff to uphold high standards of customer service and professionalism.
Collaborate with other members of the dining services team to develop menus, plan special events, and implement new initiatives.
Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree in food service, culinary arts, hotel, restaurant, institutional and/or hospitality management or related field, preferred.
- 3 years minimum of experience working in a commercial or institutional food service establishment to include: cooking, food safety practices and demonstratedleadership and dynamic team building skills. Banquet and catering experience preferred.
- Current certification in ServSafe (HACCP) or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Internet and e-mail.
