What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor of Graphic Design position at Culver-Stockton College?
Culver-Stockton College invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Graphic Design. This is a full-time, tenure-track position beginning in the fall of 2025 and is a face-to-face position. Primary responsibilities include developing and teaching all levels of graphic design course offerings, design history, and web / interactive design. Prior teaching experience and a record of professional / creative practice (exhibitions and publications) are strongly desired. Candidates should have a genuine commitment to teaching graphic design and digital media at the college level. Proficiency with the Mac platform and Creative Cloud / Adobe Creative Suite are required. Preference will be given to candidates with a personal interest in game design, digital art and illustration, or AI and generative design.
Responsibilities :
- The individual will primarily be responsible for developing and providing leadership for graphic design coursework, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
- Support the general education program and serve on faculty / staff committees.
- Mentor and assist students as an academic advisor throughout their undergraduate studies.
- Maintain active engagement with student recruitment efforts, service activities, and annual visit days.
- Cultivate regional connections and arrange internships and service-learning opportunities for students.
- Demonstrate commitment to creative and professional activities, which may include exhibiting artwork, publications, participation in or contribution to professional organizations and societies, and scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Must have the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
