Membership Sales Associate

The Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, is seeking a passionate and driven Membership Sales Associate to join our team. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about our mission and dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.

About the Role:

As a Membership Sales Associate, you will play a vital role in growing our membership base. You will be responsible for generating leads, conducting tours, closing sales, and managing member accounts. This includes setting appointments, attending membership events (on and off-site), and completing all necessary membership administrative work for enrollment. You will also be a key point of contact for prospective and current members, providing information about our programs and services.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Starting hourly rate: $16.91 per hour
• Part-time position: 15-28 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday, with mid-day and evening hours, and occasional weekends based on special events.
• Benefits include NJ Earned Sick Leave, free facility membership to the Y, and one free child in our Before and After/Holiday Care/Camp programs.

Essential Functions:

• Provide excellent customer service to all members, visitors, guests, and stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with prospects via phone, in person, and email.
• Achieve all assigned sales goals within the required timeframe.
• Manage and track leads using Daxko Operations/Daxko Engage (or similar CRM).
• Process memberships, program registrations, and financial assistance applications.
• Promote the Y's programs and services at on-site and off-site events.
• Maintain accurate records and submit timely reports.
• Uphold the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age upon hire.
• Minimum of one year of experience in sales (Solution Based Sales, Direct Sales, and/or Business to Consumer Sales preferred) and/or account management, with a proven track record of achieving goals; previous membership sales experience a plus.
• Minimum of two years of experience in customer service (preferably within a YMCA or other non-profit organization) including knowledge of member services best practices; multi-tasking, problem-solving, objection handling, diffusing and de-escalating difficult conversations, and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional organizational skills.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, advanced spreadsheet abilities, knowledge of how to use and run Zoom/Workspace meetings, Google Forms and general computer knowledge; knowledge of Daxko Operations/Daxko Engage preferred but not required given prior experience with other CRM/Data Entry programs.
• Minimum availability of 12-15 hours weekly and ability to work occasional weekends as needed based on special events.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification, and Darkness to Light training or achieved within first 60 days of hire.
