What You Need to Apply:

Master's Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution, plus one-year experience in a psychiatric setting,
OR -
Bachelor's Degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution, plus three years of experience in mental health, one of which is in a crisis or acute care setting.

Completion of NJDMHS Crisis Training Certification, or eligibility to take this examination.

Valid automobile driver's license with an MVR meeting agency standards.

Ability to work overnight hours.
Position Overview:
As a Certified Screener, you will be responsible for providing face-to-face emergency screenings, evaluations, and crisis interventions to adults and children in the community and hospital. You will help assess mental health crises and provide stabilization and support.
What Does This Position Look Like?
Certified Screeners answer the hotline to assist with phone referrals, provide therapeutic interventions, and advise on face-to-face evaluations. You will be responsible for conducting screenings and evaluations, stabilizing clients in crisis, and documenting all telephone and face-to-face contacts. In addition, you will participate in training, supervision, and employee development activities as recommended by the Director of the Program.
