TITLE : Electrician Apprentice I
FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS :
Completion of high school or equivalent. Three years of experience in the electrical trade, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred. Concurrent technical school training (after hours) is desired.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Receives direct supervision. Works under the guidance of a skilled tradesman in performing specific or general electrical duties. Keeps the journeyman supplied with tools and materials. Cleans work area, machines, and equipment. Performs routine tasks as needed. Develops increasing skills in electrical trade. Develops knowledge of safety hazards, rules, regulations, and implements safety precautions. Attends and successfully completes all training activities as required to improve ability and knowledge in performance of work duties. Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity. Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
The employee must be able to demonstrate the following physical demands to safely and productively perform the essential functions of the Electrician position : the job requires constant material / tool handling, standing / walking on even and uneven grade and work from below grade to overhead; frequent pulling up to 125 lbs. / force; and occasional pushing. The employee must be able to lift / carry 25 lbs. constantly, 50 lbs. frequently and 120 lbs. occasionally. The employee must be able to pull up to 120 lbs. / force frequently. The employee must be able to work in confined spaces requiring entry 24" x 24" crawl spaces occasionally. The employee must be able to tolerate the above job demands on a regular schedule and as assigned.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
Must possess ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License if required.
